Excatly. I'm not a tennis fan and I don't rate Henman in the grand scheme of things as he's not proven himself. But do I support him? Yes. Do I want him to win something? Yes. Do I do this because he is a fellow countryman? YES.

The problem is that us Brits are disappointed so often that we poo-poo our own people to avoid what we fear is inevitable disaster!

We're just not prepared to put our emotional welfare on the line yet again, only to be beaten into submission and despair by another underwhelming performance...

If he wins it, of course, he's a national hero and it's all due to our undying belief in him over the years...that's about fair innit?!

Well, IMO you should still get up and support him.

If you want to see absolutely gutted - you should have seen me on the day of the RWC final. I was a shadow of my former self.
