Don't know about you but I'm booked! The only question is whether I'll get that damn 748 belt change done in time... |
A Monday !! Ideal A chance to give either the 998R or the 998Hybrid a runout Or if I really pull my finger out a 1000cc DS Project bike, not sure there are enough hours between now and July the 9th for that to happen, but you never know |
AAAAAARRRRHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH I knew it would be date I couldn't make :( |
Just before Cadwell race weekend....may get a little full ;) got to check finances but think it could be an 848 jobbie :) |
Will Ducati UK be bringing bikes to play on again :D |

That is still being worked on Frank! |
Everyone Loves Cadwell, but its 400ish miles round trip for those nearer London, and the next weekend the entire DD squad and there supporters are already there. IMHO I would think more peeps would book monday,16th, to play on their other duc's, but to drive up monday and then back again on the thurs or fri ? And anyone doing the Ducati trackday might easily go over a day earlier and see what the DD racing is all about? Surely these riders make up the biggest pool of potential racers ? Sorry for the rant, and I know DSC is more than just DD, and I really enjoyed my last DSC trackday but can't make it on the 9th. pete |

+1 I'll be one of those "supporters" :( |
Unfortunately the 16th wasn't available as it was already booked for another event. |
Excellent! Thank guys, I will call and book first thing tomorrow. Looking forward......... Regards, James |

My weekend at work, need to sort out my shifts.Or leave the F**ckers locked behind bars for 48hrs!! |

48hrs is not nearly long enough make it 72hrs :) |
Details are now up on the Club MSV website: http://www.clubmsv.com/bike-home/eve...productid=1209 |
Am thinking of booking on to the DSC trackday but on the clubMSV website it says no tyre warmers is the novice group does anyone know why. Cheers |
So you don't go out and tank it in the novice group! If you're good enough to use tyre warmers you should be in inters! |
work willing i'll be there -be good to catch up with a bunch of you after all this time... |
track day wont be doing the track thing ,is it ok to come and see some of the guys and if so whats the cost. |
It does not cost anything to spectate on a track day, so just pop along and chat to the guys in the paddocks. |

Rubbish.. It ends up costing a fortune. You start watching, you get the trackday bug then you go racing..;) Craig |

Honest view Hi guys newbie Ducati owner...... How nuts are these track days? And are the groups respected? I'm coming at it from the other perspective - I'm only interested in building my knowledge of my new 'bike; not getting buzzed in the middle of a load of wannabee racers, or t-boned by some idiot with more bravado than skill. Are the track days just a cheap practice day for racers (if so I'll come watch) or is it a track day for road riders who want to scrap the odd knee slider in relative safety? thanks Paul |
....oh and noise testing of course .....999s with Termi. Will it pass? ta Paul |
The DSC Trackdays are actually *very* friendly because we are a Club and have a mutual passion for Ducatis. This brings a lot more respect between the riders than you would fine on your average (anonymous) trackday. We run the usual format of trackday, except that it is Ducati only. There will be some very fast guys out on the track in the fast group, but to be honest these racers/ex-racers are much safer than you would give them credit for! The day is run by Club MSV, so normal trackday rules will apply - ride like an idiot and you'll be out. Too fast and you move up, too slow and you move down. Our day tend to be a bit slower than your average trackday anyway, as we like to encourage first time trackday riders into our Novice group as an introduction to both Ducatis and Trackdays. We also have a good atmosphere in the paddock and there will always be someone to help you if you need a hand with anything. If you're going to dip your toe into trackdays on a Ducati then the DSC days are probably the best you can get! |

It's a "noisy" 105dB day, so you shouldn't have any problems. We've had a lot louder get out on the track before, including a genuine Desmosedici GP05 ex-Capirossi race bike ;) |
Hi Paul, In the main the DSC days or where the majority of bikes are DSC Ducati's there tends to be much more respect on the track, mainly because no one wants to chuck an expensive Ducati down the road. Yes there will be a few DD racers out there but they will go in the fast group and if anything the racers are safer to be around on track than most as they know what they are doing. You could start in the Novice group and if you feel that you have progressed you can move into the inters later on in the day. At these events there are always instructors going round keeping an eye out for prats and normaly the rule is one warning then your off the track , go home for bad track riding. Craig |
Thanks guys ...appreciated....see you there. Been round Cadwell once before on the K******i :D Performance Bikes '90s evening a couple of years back. Lots rave about it as a track, but to be honest the Mountain holds no thrills, bit of an oddity, but hammering up and around Charlies is joyous. My riding a bit rusty, but the first ride on my 999s - wow. First time on really good suspension and brakes. Feels way more than 10 years of progress vs the ZX7. Realise how tired that bike was getting. Paul |
Paul, I think the others have covered most of the points, another good aspect of the day is that if you want a little advice and tuition there are always instructors willing to show you round and then follow you, followed by a chat in the paddocks on how to improve your riding or not depending on how you do, its a great day out not just for the riders but the family as well, everyone is friendly and helpful and in the novice group you go at your own pace until you learn the track and your ability's, as its an all Ducati day your not going to have wanabe racers on R1s etc blasting past you or cutting you up, lots of guys willing to give good advice on tire pressure's, gears etc so come along introduce yourself and have a great day and go home with a smile on your face. Paul |
Booked....thanks for all the tips. See you all soon enough...... Paul |
Bump! ;) |

Just booked me and Mrs Monster on. :D |
Well up for this now .... Got my first taste of what my bike can do on Tuesday at the Bike Magazine day at Cadwell. Torrential rain (and some work to do in the morning) meant I got there just in time for last session before lunch. Damp. I'll admit to being v nervous. Bike was of course filthy due to ride there.....no van or trailer for me. Sun came out and all activity stopped for lunch :( Managed three sessions in the afternoon, on a dry track except for the back around hairpin. Only the last session had a few spots of rain. Ducati turn out included Mike Armitage (Bike journo') on the Panigale, an 1198 Corse and a classic sport. I have witnesses that he said he'd rather have mine over the Panigale :p More low down drive. There then ensued the whole discussion around electronic rider aids, mere mortals, real world riding etc etc. Having said that he looked incredibly smooth out lapping in the intermediate group. I now love my bike even more....handling is something sublime. Only issue I've got to learn is the downshifting revs whilst scrubbing off speed - the engine over run puts a lot of hove back through the clutch. I'll download a couple of pics off the phone of the Panigale when I get a moment.... |
Just a reminder to get your places booked! Don't sit on the fence, get it booked ;) |
How many places are left, and in what groups? |
