2012 Champions, my money's on... Class A Andy Challis or Matt Lawson Class B Brummy Dave or Paul Pullen Providing they enter and finish all the races. but good luck to all as racing can be a funny old thing so you never know what might happen. Last minute rider may turn up yet. ;) |
Class A Andy Challis or Matt Lawson Class B Brummy Dave ended on form or could go to anyone really Think we will know who's up for it after Brands. Hope we have a good and exciting end to the season. Mark |
don't write people off if they don't do it at Brands, think some of the new entrants may have a say or two as well |

Good advice, Ghost had two non scoring rides at Brands Last year and look where he ended the season |
I expect Senna to do great at Brands, he likes it there and always goes well. As does Awesome. Larry the Matt may be a little rusty to start with too...altho no dropped rounds means gotta be on it from the off! |

I think the non drop rounds could be the turning point this year. You can't afford to crash but want to win, not an easy combination. I know  If you are lucky enough to win then lap and race records start to raise there head making it even more risky, but it does make for excellent racing. :D |

We knew Ghostie was in with a shout before he turned up at Brands. Theres a few other people that may / may not appear as contenders. Cant wait :) |
I would also expect to see some of last years riders pick up some silverware for the first time and the odd suprise winner. :D |
I keep going on about this, but dropped rounds barely makes any difference to anything in any year. Last year for example: Class A: only Andy Challis and Kev E dropped any points, and it made no difference to any positions Class B: only Alan and Paul P lost any points from dropped races, and the only difference would have been Alan equal on points to Kev P, but Kev would still have placed above Alan on other results, so no change. The only possible difference it can make is if someone gets so paranoid about not finishing it slows them down... But winning is almost more important than consistency regardless. I managed to finish second with 4 non-starts/finishes just by virtue of the number of wins. Because of the points difference, winning is almost more important than not finishing the odd race (in my opinion). Oh, and my tips would be Awesome and Brummy Dave. But who really knows until the final checkered flag. |

Ahh but if there were not compulsory drops I could have gone past Kev P because I wouldn't have sat out the final race at Oulton and probably picked up a few extra points, even if I cruised round like Hugh did Lol :-) But hey ho |
I would have done Oulton too and been trying harder at Catsle Doom rather than sitting back and being courteous if all rounds counted....wouldnt have won the title but may have affected who did |
My thoughts are anyone who steps up to the mark from trackdays to racing is a winner for me its not the winning but the taking part and having fun, some of the best people i have ever met have been in the DD paddock, riders/spectatators and organisers so as long as i am enjoying it it dont bother me if i come first or last, not saying a win or even a third place would not be welcome but the main thing is getting out there, doing it and going home ready to do it again. |

Well you ride the bike then :) |
the point is all races will make a difference I think. Last year maybe not as most the front runners had the same kinda results & dnf. Have a look at the previous year and I *think* Matt L would have been champ with 1 or not 2 rounds to go but agree - totally irrelevant - flag drops bullshit stops n all that :) which is in 2 weeks ;) :D |

With 23 races this year there is probably less chance of one bad race having much effect, but one bad meeting with 3 DNF/DNS results and thats a lot of points you could be missing out on |
TBH I'm just hoping last year wasnt a fluke - I fear it was - and I can stil ride a bike at a good pace. After that, anything is a bonus Reckon A could be a bit like B last year, with several winning different races but Awesome & Angry have to be favourites by a considerable way, then Dallas if its stays dry all year and who knows about Simon and some of the new ones. B could be really open, with Brummie & Paul probably obvious as should do well from last year as all those ahead have moved up. Reckon Scott could be a good outside bet but only if he gets his bike faster - its way off the pace of those two, then there are a few newbies like teh geezer from Rapido who's been racing minibikes for a while and doing well and Spence who I think could take some silverware if he keeps the right way up ;) With the Dentist having a year under his belt, Phil could easily leap from his pace to mine last year....and I hope he does and will be doing whatever I can to help him do it....its way open I'd suggest if you know someone who wants to watch good racing, tell em to turn off Moto GP and head of to a Hottrax event and watch us! :biaggi: |
If Jules was doing every round, my money would be on him for class B champ. You only need to ask Ghost how close he came to winning at Oulton. He's getting steadily quicker. |
and my bikes not working yet :( |
I know about me! I'lll be just steady away for he first couple and bed into the series - no crazy antics - just yet! |
