JHP Billet clutch cover
 

Has anyone got one of the black anodised JHP vented clutch covers ?? If so, id love to see a pic as just deciding ether to go with the DP or JHP one..cant remember what the latter looked like ! Would also be interested in seeing any other styles (ie tecmoto etc).

Haven't got a piccie, but JHP's stuff tends to be well thought and out, and whilst not always the prettiest, it's more than up to the job it's intended for.
The covers are pretty thick and although not vented too much, will offer good protection in an off.
The latest DP cover is really smart though and should protect well.

The cover is a billet Tecmoto - very sturdy. Pressure plate (anodised red) and the spring caps (black) are from JHP. The stainless steel capscrews and the stainless steel springs are from Cornerspeed :D

The new TecMoto ones look the same as DP ... but at £99 quid!

Nearly went for one of those Ant (the DP one is nearly £200..:o)..but as a few of my fellow S4R owners have had them (and in black !!) thought id better be different !! This is the one im getting, but in black (with a red pressure plate)..what do you think ? (please dont slate it as ive ordered the bloody thing now and it was £100 !!!! :lol:)

Only joking, looks pretty damn good. I'm still running the standard clutch cover even though I've got a nice red-anodised slipper in there, just purely for protection.

I've heard that carbon covers break too easily, so even a light drop could wreck the clutch (isn't that right Martin? ;) ) but hadn't found a billet cover that I liked until the new DP/TecMoto one. It's now just getting round to buying one...

PS: Is it me or are those TecMoto pics upside-down?

I'm running the standard clutch cover with some washers put in to give a breathing gap. Although I quite like the look tecmoto jobbie and it could find it's way on to mine one day. I wouldn't put a carbon one on.

You can take the rubber gasket off the cover which gives it another couple of mm clearance, and use the spacers in the gasket too. However, I read somewhere (Haynes?) that not all Ducatis have the gasket. This is what I've done for the time being.

Just to add a bit of variety to this theme I run a STM lightweight clutch with a Casoli billet cover. If anyone fits one of these it is a must to disassemble it and loctite the cap screws before fitting - they come out very easily as I found out

No comments about the bike please its ten years old and is used in the wet!

All done..hope you like it..(and arent new ducati clutches quiet??!!...I kinda like the tamburine in a spin dryer racket my 888 makes..!)

Oh dear, this morning I bought a carbon vented cover from Casoli Moto. Didn't think of any spill implications..

It's personal choice, and I'm sure we're all trying hard *not* to chuck our bikes up the road! It's just that the carbon cover offers very little protection at all.

Having said that, even the standard cover will bend and cause post breakages, but it will protect better than a carbon one in a typical low-side.

the standard one is made of what looks like two 22 swg alloy pressings press together I bought one off e-bay to replace my damaged one and thought about making my own vented cover out of the old one. I am about half way at the moment looking good but very thin ?? ok I guess as long as I don't fall off.

The billet "Tecmoto" clutch cover doesn't appear on the web site .... am I missing it. I can only see the Dp copy ones?

The billet ones are quite old now - I don't know if they still sell them. Was in the shop yesterday chatting to Mike but they've got very little stock left.

The builders were working on getting the workshop and store sorted, so they'll be up and running again soon - a couple of weeks at most I reckon.

If you're after one, it may well be worth giving them a ring as they may well have one.
