Portsmouth Trade Sales

Not sure if this is the place for this but .....

I stumbled across a new shop in Portsmouth the other day. Portsmouth Trade Sales. They sell bikes and cars (and even caravans!) ..... and have a nice new bike clothing department. Lots of gear. Shoie, Shark, Arai, Belstaff, Daytona, Alpinestars, Oxford, Muc Off and more. Had a chat to the guy who owns it .... he's only been open for a couple of months. Seems like an ok bloke too.

If you're local to me it may be worth a little visit. They're opening a cafe too.

Anyway, thought it may be of interest.

Useful... gotta be worth a look.

Friend of mine owns this, Steve Brown, owns a MV and V Rod.

Bloke is honest, used to be a racer and his main company sponsors Hawk Kwacker.

Like I said .... he seemd on ok bloke. Its a very nice place he's got there too. And something decent in Pompey too :o:o

Wahey!!! DSC discount time!!! :D

Well, can't blame me for trying!

Any thing is better than Shi**y City, erm i mean Riossi. Portsmouth Honda is a clean modern place, just sells erm Hondas!:P

hipshaker 05-Jul-2004 20:17

The clothing bit at the Honda place is very small too. Big at PTS.

We're quite lucky now, with J&S out Cowplain, Infinity in Soton and Hein Gericke.

aah yes. I went to J&S. It's big but I didn't like a great deal of what they had there. A lot of it seemed a bit garish to me. I ended up getting kitted out at Infinity in Southampton (Dainese Jacket), Infinity Farnborough (Dainese trousers and Daytona boots) and Sondel in London (Roof helmet and Dainese gloves) ....... hopefully that lot will last me!! Its not a cheap game though is it??

Oh and I've picked up a lock and some cleaning gear from PTS.

I did have a look round a Beaulieu too ..... but I wasn't that impressed.

Mark 05-Jul-2004 20:32

Been to Beaulieu last 2 years, and prior to that the second year it ran. Did not bother about going this year, to me it has gone down hill from year 2 to know.

That's only thing, J&S sells older gear, and often this means the 'disco' leathers. Stepsons OGK was lot cheaper than SMC for example, and same helmet.

psychlist 05-Jul-2004 21:34

Never liked Beaulieu to be honest but a new bike shop is always worth a look see :bouncy:

Looks like a trip into Pompey this weekend for a nose around then, or maybe friday, while I "work from home"....

hipshaker 05-Jul-2004 22:39

Make sure you look at the directions on the site though as its not visible from the main road. Probably quite easy to ride past. Nice big car park when you get in there ..... when I was there Sat there was a burger/tea van there too.

antonye 05-Jul-2004 23:46

Shame his website sucks though...

NBs996 06-Jul-2004 00:15

Give 'im a chance antonye!!!

If you go on your own Mr_S, it's easy... end of the M275, round the roundabout to come back the opposite way but stay in left lane and take the first left by the printers shop. To the end of the road and turn left (or you'll get arrested for breaking into the ship yard!), and you'll see the shop after a short way on the left.
Think I've got that right!

I might take a look on saturday if I'm about.

antonye 06-Jul-2004 00:20

I know someone that does commercial websites cheap ;)

hipshaker 06-Jul-2004 00:23

I think the web site is being built quite slowly but changing on a daily basis. Definitely not an indication of how good the clothing section is though .... much better when you get in there.

Those directions are spot on too.

JasonBoswell 06-Jul-2004 00:52

Oh man.. have you seen the HD Fat Boy he has for sale. I'm not one for customs, but...

25k though.. eek :o:o
