My New 848 Well ive just been down to pick my 848 up in white, I didnt think i was going to like it in white but when i saw it looks pretty cool, well i had another result it only has 950 miles on the clock and its an 09 plate with fsh, carbon mudgaurds and hugger, carbon exhaust protector, termis, it looks lovely will get pics on here when I get a good camera!! All in all I only rid it 100 yards and already felt much better than my 748!! Is there anything else i should do to it?? :) :) |
add fuel and ride it :D |
Quick action throttle, neoprene seat, and one tooth less on front sprocket. |
Clean it! You know you want to.... |
Change it for a nice 10/1198:) |

Excellent choice of bike. Enjoy :) Can't think what you could do with it :D |
Get yourself a steering damper kit, ![]() Fabbri are amongst the best screens if it does not already have a double bubble. I have a few parts that I am selling for a friend, see the 'For Sale' section. |
IMHO doesnt need a steering damper; mine never did and that was ridden pretty hard on very bumpy A & B roads |

I agree!! |
You must have better roads than we do up north. On some bumpy roads when giving it a thrashing mine flaps like mad. Only on very bumpy roads though. |
you on a 1098 Ian? This is an 848 so front not as keen to go light |

Pretty hard?? What about the c roads?:D |
any road.....and a few grass verges too ;) |

I know about grass verges :-( |
No, sold my 1098 and now got an 848. It does not do it all the time but it did it a couple of times and it was enough to make me feel more confident having a damper on. |

would that be the new one or the one I have now!! there was no mud inside the fairing so must have been well cleaned...... |

 verge means you only get mud on the tyres ;) |
well went out 1st time yesterday and ive got to say WOW, its totally different to anything ive ridden the power curve is superb, not like the 748 where youve got to thrash it to gt anything from it, and handling wise its awesome comfort is good to all in all im chuffed to bits!!! oh and white is the new red!!!!! |

Glad you are enjoying it.......but then what isn't there to enjoy with the 848 ...........wait for the 1098 owners to tell us  |
Snap. First excursion on mine today, been in the garage since Oct, awesome! Seems quicker than I remember the old version and front gets lighter too, but sure that's just because it's 18 months or so since I rode a fast sports bike Gotta sort suspension tho, no idea how Tim rode this thing like this! Oh and add a little pressure in tyres, realised when I got home that was the one prep thing ( did chain etc) I forgot yesterday.....23 front 25 rear may not be he best for the road ;) |
lol not a good tyre pressure checked mine yeterday, then i cleaned it today and it was all shiny then couldnt stand there looking at it so i dirtied it up again lol, yes the front does get light pretty quick lol, and i opened it up in 2nd and OMG i didnt think it was going to stop, i need a track day, bradders where abouts are you mate?? |
when i get home to pompey i should really come out to the 272 considering your all more that way!! |
I live Gosport so familiar haunt |
oh rite well i hope its not rowner lol, i can see the gunsmoke from here haha!!!! |
No but coming from a Pompey lad that's a definite insult ;) |
did some messing with suspension and out again yesterday, plus 31/29 R/F pressures...seem to behave a little better but needs proper set up, time to book it into Snells |
hard or soft, i woz down our neck of the woods the other day and erm got pulled by the obvious, not great i would like to keep my license thank you please!!!! oh and ive clocked 700 miles now no motorways lol, my chicken strips have disappeared!!! |
Softened it lots |
