749R WANTED FOR T.W.O. TEST

Jon Urry at TWO magazine has been in touch and they want to borrow a 749R for a day.

It would basically involve a day riding on track and lending the bike to Niall Mackenzie for a few laps so they can get some photos of him on it. Basically a free track day.

If you're interested send me a U2U or an email and I'll put you in touch.

No press bike available????? There's been one in all the mags.......

If anyone does lend 'em their bike, make sure ya sticker it up!

Check the insurance - I recall Hodgeson on a 999 rep (?) earlier this year (?) on the IOM roads and slinging it down the tarmac.

Henners,

They borrowed my 996R last year, and were OK, don't expect to get any track time during the photo shoot though.

Did we ever get any large DSC stickers cut for this type of eventuality ?? Think Henners was looking into it at one time.

They used my RSV SP for a test of Aprilias in the August 2002 issue, Glen Richards was the pilot, he promised to take it carefull being a ncie chap.

Lying B*****d every time he came up to the corner he had it sideways smoking up the rear.

Good fun day though.

The agreement wasIf they drop it they pay

Rob

And do you leave with a nice big goody bag?
New tyres, free subscription etc.
It would be good to have your bike set up by Niall though.:sing:

Robo 16-Jul-2004 13:52

No goody bag or anything else, did pay my fuel costs getting to Oulton and I could of gone out on the p**s the night before with Wozza and Glen but I had another function so missed out on that.

Still a good fun day out

So they get to thrash your (£14000) bike around a track, wear out your tyres (and someone like N Mac is going to give it a hard time) and you get nowt!:puzzled:While they get an article that WILL help them shift more mags.

Update ...

Thank you to all of you who agreed speak with TWO about borrowing your 749Rs - and to Ducati Wolverhampton who also offered. Following message received from Jon Urry:

A huge thanks for taking the time to contact your members, sorry I haven't responded sooner I've been away on a bike launch. I'll let you know how it goes and make sure I plug the club in the mag!

MCN borrowed my 999R last year and did a similar thing at Croft - few quick laps, photo-shoot etc. Was offered as much free track time as I wanted whilst they were there but what with the distance and work I had to leave them to it :( .

Still they did a good report, didn't thrash it too much and I got some nice piccies - see your DSC calender for June :D
