Having a thick moment Can't remember whether you rotate the ride height bar clockwise or counterclockwise to decrease the ride height - I think its counterclockwise :puzzled: Its set a bit on the mental side at the moment, can barely reach the ground now and also its getting scary nearly clipping kerbs cos of the crazy oversteer  |
whichever way it is, its so that less thred shows (not sure if this helps or not, but its all I know:puzzled:) |
Hmm not really  You have to rotate it quite a lot of times before you notice a difference in the thread length!! |
You might be better off taking it off, or lifting the back up to remove the weight . I'm almost certain it clockwise. Are the locknuts tight, if not you can work it out from them. |
Doh! Having another thick moment - just remembered I have an old one lying around somewhere, will check on that one  |
DJ have you looked at the thread re suspension set up and the company something8superbike? I set my 000r to their ride height legth and fork set up and its impressive... |
Its anti-clockwise to decrease ride height as the right hand rose joint is at the top, so from the left side of the bike grab the tie rod and rotate it so you move it towards the opposite side of the bike via the rear wheel side (not the engine side) [Edited on 19-7-2004 by skidlids] |

Is that a new model, or a limited edition? :D |

Cheers Kev - thought it was anticlockwise but wasn't sure :D Andy,, I tried their settings, but I couldn't get near their measurement without the rideheight adjuster being dangerously long (there was hardly any thread left in side the rod! :o ) |
Roy if your up Oxford way again at some point on the 998 It would be interesting to see what your rear ride height is with my gauge that I copied from a DP item and compare your settings to mine. |
Mate at the moment I'm riding the bike for the hell of it (as you can imagine after being bikeless for more than 6 weeks!) so could pop down sometime this week? I'm tempted to do either cadwell on thursday or brands on friday and would like to sort the ride height before then - i have an extra line showing on the forks too, so at the moment the handling is 'interesting' My rear brake seems to have totally failed too, which is strange cos its pretty much the only part of the bike i haven't mucked about with!! |
find the easy way to sort my rear brake is to put new pads in and just push the fluid and any air back into the reservoir. I'm off to a big bike night tonight but I'm about tomorrow after 4:30pm |
I dont think theres any fluid in the reservoir!! Either the lines split or there's a leak somewhere :( It suddenly failed commuting thru london on saturday, ie one minute brakepressure the next, none! Tomorrow sounds good mate. cheers! :D |
285mm on my tie rod was easily achievable!! i took it off to measure it, and its only a couple of threads showing out of the rod! i went 000 when i should of gone 999... |
