Track Guides I was just about to order both volumes of "A Twist of the Wrist" from Amazon and expected to be able to order a track guide too. I've done a search but got 'no results'. Where does one buy these? Alternatively, has anyone got a reasonably up to date/2nd hand no longer required version I could purchase off 'em? Webbyc maybe?:D. |
I think MCN sell a looseleaf folder track guide, haven't got one handy to check though. |
That's odd Redruth, I've just ordered Twist of the Wrist II and the MCN Circuit Guide by Andy Ibbott (Mr CSS) from Amazon. They're both available. Here's a link to the circuit guide As it says, it can take 4-6 weeks delivery (mine did), and Il Duce, David Cook, reminded me that if I had bought both books directly from the CSS I could've got a DSC discount The circuit guide is excellent though, really thorough guide to every corner of just about each track in the UK, including the minor ones and the IOM [Edited on 3-8-2004 by Jools] |
Thanks Lizzie. I just read your post about the van near E.Grinstead. I bet they've spent half their time sifting the uninsured/untaxed/illegal Pikey vehicles from the mainly law abiding citizens that are worth pursuing because they will pay the fines. :flame::flame: Cheers Jools. 4 - 6 weeks is too late for Cadwell and Mallory and cutting it fine for Silverstone, though. I'll see if I can find the CSS website now. ;) |

redruth, i have one i use from a couple of years back. if you dont have any luck getting one let me know and i'll copy the relevant pages and post them to you |
Thanks Dickie. I'll let you know if I need that but should be able to borrow Tim's (aws) to photocopy, as I did for Snetterton - assuming he's still prepared to lend me anything ever again once he sees his trailer, which I am taking back this evening. :o I'm considering a new club name - Trailertrash. It's gonna be my alter ego. |
If you use the search option (top left on each page, below the logo) there was a link to an online track guide for Cadwell posted a while back, just before Track Attack 2. |
http://www.trackdays.co.uk/Circuits/Cadwell-Park.htm Excellent guide as originally posted by Weeksy, just click on the bends |
Just replied to U2U but hadn't seen this 'click on bend' instruction.;) |

Wouldn't be much of a guide without that instruction, sorry Ruth should have included that bit in the U2U |
Jeessusssss! Just had a quick look at that link and am now back to full panic mode. Ignorance, in this instance, was bliss!:o:o:o:o |
This is the one that Jamie posted - some excellent pics: http://www.smokinfox.fsnet.co.uk/cadwell.html Note: doesn't include the new chicane though... |
Forgive me, but aren't they just some pictures of a nice little country lane? Flippin' 'eck. You're not helping!!:o:o:o:o:o:o |
ruth, as all of the guys here found out recently, Cadwell can be whatever you like it to be. A fast and terrifying track or a simple pootle on country roads. The perception that you have to go balls out on a trackday is very very wrong. ride safe and enjoy A. |
If you want to see an onboard lap of Cadwell you can take a look at this old thread here --> http://217.199.188.40/xmb/viewthread.php?tid=5991 |
F**** Desmondo, that's fast. And soooo narrow!:alien: Plenty of opportunity to go sliding off into the grass. Think I'd better try to get the trackday fairing immediately! Archie, my loved ones would definitely encourage me to treat it as a pootle down a country road. Unfortunately, they know better than to waste their breath. Mood: Thrilled that it looks so bloody challenging and so flippin' scarey :devil: |

Better ask Jon and Gunforhire about that |

 You bet! Bring a laptop, Ruth, I want to see that video a couple hundred more times  |
I'm sorry, Loz, I gave my laptop to my daughter when I went "unemployed" some 3 years ago. Furthermore, why the F*** would I carry a lap top in my overloaded rucksack when I have to bring the following: hairdryer, makeup, clean undies, sthg to wear for the evening, at least 2 prs shoes with matchin' handbage, waterproofs, camera, midnight snacks. litre bottle water ... give me a break, man:flame: |
 You're right, I forgot all the stuff you'll need. Are you allowed to carry that much luggage on the actual track? Oh, and Ruth ... don't forget the kettle and tea bags. :o :D |
Ruth you fergot the lippie for trackday photographs............. better get me coat then rgds mort:D:D:D:sing::sing::roll::roll::lol::lol: |
Paulmort, I do lippie for one reason, and one reason only, and I ain't about to divulge that on this board. GET YR COAT!!!! Spookily, Loz, you are not far from the truth with reference to T bags. I do actually carry emergency P G Tips in my handbag. Well, there is no substitute. Wot can I say:puzzled: |
PG Tips? Yeah, they're OK, but Typhoo bags come in a red box - much nicer. :ninja: Mort, if Ruth tells you about the lippy, U2U me mate, OK? |
