rockhopper 05-Aug-2004 17:06

John Koscinski or some such spelling used to do it.

webbyc 05-Aug-2004 20:51

Wasn't there a picture of Jezza McW on a 250 Aprilia with his elbow down? Didn't he pick the bike up on his elbow and then knee to save an off?

KeefyB 05-Aug-2004 23:10

There was a great poster given away with Bike magazine, some years ago, of JP Ruggia rounding Coppice at Donington with his elbow on the deck.

That AMA guy looks like Josh Hayes on the Superstock ZX10.I hope his front wheel is non standard!;)

KeefyB 05-Aug-2004 23:16

There ya go,dont forget this was in 1989!

Fordie, heres a new photo of Jamie getting his elbow down again on my MV, still on road rubber - Dragon Evo's, he even managed to ground the fairing this time, only slightly, but still managed it and still can't believe a bog standard road bike can handle like this...............

Seriously doubt thats possible - the drag from the leather pushing down into the tarmac would pull him off the bike!!:o

muttsnuts 24-Aug-2004 22:15

DJ - Believe it, thats a real photo and was taken about 4 weeks ago at Brands, I've seen Jamie do this both times on the MV and I've seen his elbows in his leathers afterwards - or should I say, what was his elbows  - its a genuine photo, check out this months (Sept edition) Fast Bike mag if you don't believe me !

Road Runner 24-Aug-2004 22:19

I did once in France on a hairpin right hander, elbow, then shoulder, then head ouch

As for the rider you are on about it was Ruggia.

I'm not talking about elbow down, TBH if I moved my upper body all the way over I could probably do it, I was talking about losing the front end, and pushing the bike up with your elbow...

muttsnuts 24-Aug-2004 22:57

in which case your probably right !! :o

Festa748 24-Aug-2004 23:37

James toesland used to do it he had 7 or 10 stitch's in his elbow for it think it was last year though

rcgbob44 25-Aug-2004 00:36

Guido 25-Aug-2004 19:03
