Rearset footrest Hi guys, yesterday, due to a bit of blatant stupidity by myself, my pride and joy ended up on the floor of my shed. After much puffing and heaving I suceeded in picking it up and discovered my footrest had snapped off! Ordered another of AJR, which arrived today (thanks Alan!) but the peg bit is too small!! AARGHH any ideas anyone?? Needless to say I'm not mad keen on shelling out for new rearsets! :flame: |
Heres a couple of pics to make it easier to see what I'm on about! |
Ok that was only one, heres the other, I am rubbish at computers! :frog: |
When you say the peg is a bit too small, do you mean the diameter of the mounting, or the length of the peg? If its the latter, the Corse pegs are shorter. |
Sorry, the diameter of the mounting is a bit smaller = wobbly footrest! |
Oops! You need part number 966013AAA "Footpeg" from your Ducati dealer - yes they actually sell these as spares! Or you could order one from RED Racing parts - 28 Euros (about 18 quid) for the footpeg: http://www.redracingparts.com/en/footpeg/996916748.htm |
If it's just too wobbly, why not wrap some tape around it? It won't pull out because the allen bolt goes through the groove in the end. Either that or just give it a couple of extra grunts to tighten the bracket right up... |
Tape no good, it needs too much and consequently it wobbles around on the glue! I'll order one of these red performance ones and hopefully it'll fit :rolleye: |
Jen, Did I bump into you at Mallory the other month? it was your first race, myself and Lily had a chat with you about your bike (748R?) and we got onto the subject of Terry at Redtec? |
Yes we did have a chat, hello again!! My lasting memory of that chat is the girl who mentioned that I ought to try and use all of my tyre! :rolleye: How you getting on? |
that wasn't me i hope... i dont use all of mine, so doubt i would suggest it! i can think who it might be though and if it was, just ignore it :D |
btw... if you can't sort your rearsets out before next race I have my original ones still if you want to use them. I know they are not quite as good as proper ones, but may do in the meantime. |
Lol, no it was the other girl with you, bit cheeky I thought but what the hell!! I kept my standard ones for spares so I'm ok, just a bit peeved. You doing Rockingham btw? |
nah, been saving the pennies this year so not doing too many trackdays. have done rocky already anyway. Off to Oulton again and then to silverstone for CSS to see if they can actually teach me how to ride a bit better! Yeah, i guessed it might be her, but dont worry, she tells us all how to ride! |
Saving pennies, now theres an interesting concept! I got two more at Mallory and thats about it for me this year :( |

She does indeed, and lets face it, she's an ex-racer !! LOL!!! How's the racing going then Jen (assuming that's your name!) |
Yep, sure is! Racing is slowly improving, Cadwell the other week I finished 3 out of four NOT last place!! Plus pb lap time, so I gotta be happy with that! :bouncy: |
Cool... Sounds like you're having fun, that's the main thing, just remember to try and stay rubber side down, otherwise it gets expensive :) |
:D Yeah I do my best! As you can see I manage to cost myself money even in the garage! |
Mmmm.... Won't mention the amount of money I've spent by doing stupid stuff just moving the bikes around:lol: |
