2 valve engine dimensions Does anyone know if there is any difference in the dimensions of the 600 and 900 engines. I'm guessing the rear cylinder must be taller because of the stroke?? How much taller?? I'm going to have problems getting it in this modded 916 frame as it was done for a 600. Thanks for any info. |
600 = 58mm stroke 900 = 68mm stroke :) |
I need to know overall height of rear vertical cylinder of 900 compared to 600. Does the 10mm difference in stroke translate to just 10mm taller cylinder on the 900, or not that simple I'm guessing. Thanks |

Not sure about that the Inlet manifolds on the 900 are longer, but I don't know by how much as the inlet port is further from the carbs, Exhaust headers are also longer for a similar reason |
Thanks for the info. I've got a 916 frame that has been modified to take a 600 motor. Who ever did it built a frame/mount for the shock which bolts into the 916 frame. There isn't any room between the top of the rear cylinder and the frame. Want to fit a 900 lump but I'm guessing its going to be taller and wont fit in?? Thanks Just checked this, I'm not making myself clear Its the height of the engine to the top of the rocker box compared to the 600 engine. Thanks |
