Ducati Virgin

Having been listening to Roxy witter on about how much a grin it is to race DD, I thought it's about time to try it out for myself.

So I've gone and bought a bike off skidlids, and I'm gonna try a few rounds next year.

I gave racing a break this year after doing the full season in Hottrax Endurance junior 600 in 2011.

So I'm pretty new to racing really, can't wait to see where I will be in the pack, so to speak.

I am from Chesterfield, so if there are others DD enthusiasts nearby let me know, as I need to get my head around these v twin air cooled thumpers, as I'm only usd to the in-line 4 Jap screamers !

Apparently all I need for my bike is a set of 8.5kg/mm constant ratio front fork springs, as mine is standard and a bit soft, please let me know if anyone has any.

There will be further parts and information needed in the near future, so I apologise in advance for the stupid questions and requests that will surely follow. :)

First of all there are no stupid questions, well not many

IMO do a TD on the bike before you spend any money. You will be quite suprised at how little set up they need. Sounds like you will a good idea of what you want from doing the endurance racing but remember, rev limiter comes in at just over 9k which would have been tickover on the 600. Also due to the relevent lack of va va voom you will need to get it flat out and then not use the brakes :D

Good idea that.

Having spent loads on go faster bits, and not really being able to tell the difference, on my CBR, in the past, I'm definitely going to try the DD out "as is"

It's going to be a whole new riding experience. :o

I also need to get the power commander set up, can anyone recommend a relatively local dyno shop that has DD knowledge??

I would probably take it off. However, probably Ducati John in Doncaster can help.
