It\'s a long way to CornerSpeed, but.... Just come back from Nottingham on my new bike... well ok, it's not a new bike but may as well be! This is just a bit of a shout for Neil up there at Cornerspeed. OK, so there was a bit of neglect (to say the least!) from previous owners of my beastie, and what seems like a bunch of trainees doing all the past servicing... but after Nelly had worked his magic and sorted everything out, the old girl feels, sounds and rides so much different it's just hard to believe! I took a couple of the eleven knackered rockers with me as a souvenier, will post a pic later when I can be bothered. What a sound job he's done - can't praise it enough, as anyone who uses C'speed will prob understand. Was actually considering getting rid of the bike, but now I just wanna polish it and hug it! Oh and I might ride it a bit too :D 400 mile round trip to get the bike serviced. Mad? I don't think so. Mort, PJ748r and the loverly Kwikbitch showed up too... seeing Lisa in a skirt was worth the trip alone! Lookin' good sweet! ;) Thanks Neil, fantastic job mate. n :D |
I hope your wallet survived the journey :o;);) glad to hear you got it sorted |
You looked ecstatic (when we finally roused you from kipping on our doorstep!- Next time dont whizz along so fast to get to ours, Nick - we nearly stopped for a cuppa on the way back, before we met you!:o:o She looks & also sounds great:D Nelly - you've done a good job, as that bike sounded like a rusty bag of nails to ride anywhere near!!!:o Those rockers you had looked a right old mess.....hope the new ones last a bit longer. C:D |
Nick glad its a gooddun now and yer even get yer wheels polished!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Top man is our Nelly Good to see you, and dont Lisa's legs look great as well bestest and see you at rocky rgds mort:roll::roll: |
piccies of the pretty shiney rocker thingies..... Opening rocker... (no-one noticed that quick edit did they??) [Edited on 5-9-2004 by NBs996] |
Opening rocker.... if you look really carefully, you should see a tiny little area of chrome plate missing |
I noticed metal shards, more like filings, stuck to the sump plug when I changed oil. Anything to be worried about??? |
Bradders, if the metal shards stick to a magnet and there's not loads its probably OK, chrome off the rockers is not magnetic and indicates a worn rocker(s). Don't ask how i know:( I only needed 2, so was luckier than NBs996 |
definately gotta be very scared about that paul! no just kidding, sorry.... the flakes from the rockers are chrome so won't stick to the magnet on the plug. So long as they're not big bits then (i'm told!) it's quite normal. Depends what you class as "big" tho I guess! BDG - didn't have the rockers replaced cos that'd have cost over £1k + extra little bits + polishing up the scratched cam lobes... Neil swaped the heads over from another engine (think it was yours actually!) which only had about 900 miles on and was "mint", so had as good as new heads/cams/rockers/etc for A LOT less money. Well happy with that. [Edited on 4-9-2004 by NBs996] |
