single to double help needed Hiya peeps, How much do you think it would cost all in to convert a single seater 748S (2002) to a twin seater? In pic of the bike it looks like it has lugs for the rear footrest hangers on the subframe but i thought they were different. Thanks for any help given Chris |
Hi chris99,if the bike has got the lugs for the rear footrests, then it's proberly a twin seat that's been "converted" to look like a single seat!! Single seat bikes have alloy subframes & no lugs! |
Thats what i thought but he has had it fron new:puzzled: |
As BB says, it may just be a seat that you need, but if not... I had my 916 converted a couple of years back - ie New subframe, rear footrests, seat & pads & pretty sure it cost me about £600 at Pro-Twins. Hope this helps...? |
I think only the sps/R models had an alloy subframe? |
I thought this to as when I picked up my new 748s last year I noticed the lugs and presume it is a bip subframe so would need the seat unit and pegs to convert. I thought mine would be alloy being an 's' model?:( |
Thats what i thought. So does anyone know for sure if the S has a Bip sub frame?? |
Looking at the Popham pic of Lee's I would say that it uses a Bip Subframe http://ducatisportingclub.com/xmb/vi...84&pid=974 35 Also I have available a Red Bip seat unit with pads and a set of rear pegs Kev |
My S has a bip subframe - they all do. The monoposto choice only meant you got the single seat unit rather than the double - no difference in subframes. As Jen says, only a few select models (SPS/R) had the proper ally subframe. |
Cool ! Thanks guys. Anyone know how much i would be looking to pay for a seat unit with pads and pegs then?? Sorry to be a pain |
