Bugger

First, the bad news: Got taken out on a roundabout this evening. Car in front decided that the exit he wanted was the one he had already missed but took it anyway despite the fact that I was already occupying that bit of road.

Good news pt1: I can still walk (though currently limping a bit)
Good news pt2: It was the trusty but knarley VFR rather than the shiney and still perfect 999S.

Sorry to hear that...and I'm sure you got the witnesses and relevant details that you need???

I hope you aren't too badly hurt...and are back on the shiny duke soon
:)

Rally 21-Sep-2004 00:59

Witnesses? Pah! No one stopped. Not even to see if I was ok. Let's face it, people are shite. :rolleye:

I've got a mother of lump on the side of my left thigh (think it's making a bruise the size of a dinner plate) and I think I may have broken a toe on the right foot. Still, any bike accident you can walk away from is a good one... if you see what I mean...

Despite the Viffer being smashed up, it still started and I rode it the remaining 2 miles home. Proper biker bloke me. ;)

Rally 21-Sep-2004 01:00

Censored? What the **** is that **** about?

Rally 21-Sep-2004 01:02

LOL, well that cheered me up at least :D Just call me Cartman

Ma! Kitty's being a dildo!

Glyn 21-Sep-2004 01:22

glad to hear your ok (ish)
theres some bl00dy prats out there
not only is any accident that you walk away from a good one but also one you can learn from
i had a very close call recently (got hit by a car on a round about and some how stayed upright) while i was riding very sensibly.
i used to think i treated every other road user as a danger, i now treat them all as potentiel killers
if i go near um i make sure it aint for long and r/abouts i just keep to me self, either let um go first or be gone before they get there.
the only people who are going to look out for us is ourself.

Rally mate, sorry about that. I'm glad you're still mobile!

The no witnesses bit is a blow, did you get a reg for the criminal in the car?

TP 21-Sep-2004 10:28

Bugger indeed! I hope you're ok mate :(

At least it was the dirty Viffer ... did the car who hit you stop at least? And you got their details etc?

I'd be interested to hear what they had to say. "You were speeding!" "You weren't watching where you were going!"

Hopefully they would have been ok but it's important seeing as there were no witnesses..

rcgbob44 21-Sep-2004 11:16

Bet it was a woman driver, tsk!:o Not that there all bad you understand!

Redruth 21-Sep-2004 11:29

Rally, so sorry to hear about that. Did the driver that hit you stop and give you all (her) details? They are a nightmare, roundabouts, aren't they? People just don't observe any kind of lane discipline and so rarely bother to look in their left wing mirrors when they're turning off. Car drivers ought to be taught to do lifesavers the same way as bikers are. It's a very long time since I learnt to drive, but I only remember being told to look over my right shoulder, never over my left.

Hope you mend soon. Does it B*gg*r you up for work much? :o:o
