Joy...

Had a purchasing moment today, and added a 748s to my 750ss, so I'm feeling chuffed and skint. My wife saw it once, but I think I got away with it. I'm looking forward to spending some time on the 9**/748 forum!

By the way, has anyone got any good remedies for stone chips on nose cones?

bradders 24-Sep-2004 21:52

welcome brent...and enjoy;)

I use the padded stone chip protector, about £50 and seems to fit ok. Cant remember where you get them, but I am sure someone will be along to let you know soon.

hiya pal and welcome. http://www.tankpads.com/noboards.asp
you could stick one of these on.

Brent 24-Sep-2004 22:04

Thanks bradders.

It's two years old but only 500 miles - I'm taking it to Snells to get belts done, so they'll probably know. Otherwise e-bay may be a source. £50 sounds cheaper than a new cone or a paint job.

Brent 24-Sep-2004 22:06

Thanks as well marksduc - looks like a good source.

bradders 24-Sep-2004 22:28

thats the one, motografix. Fit mine ok.

Mr_S 24-Sep-2004 22:35

there's some on ebay about £30, but they don't look as good quality as the motografix ones.

any time pal.

Two tips ...

... before fitting remove any wax etc from the fairing - I use surgical spirit. And pop the thing in the oven at a low temperature for about 5 minutes to get it soft and pliable before applying to the bike :D

Snells are first class BTW

Brent 26-Sep-2004 01:41

Thanks Henners - the oven tip looks useful. I've used Snells for my SS, and I agree.

I spent some time today looking for suitable places for a tax disc, and finally found that keeping it under the seat works for me....

P.S. Sorry to hear about the Sachs incident!
