Cost of fairing, etc repairs

I have a quote from a local firm to repair/respray my damaged 999S bits. There are no cracks or breaks, but there are a few deep scuffs and scratches. The bits needing attention are:
R-H Fairing upper
R-H Fairing lower
R-H Air Deflector
Seat unit (plastic bit, not the seat)
A slight scratch on tank that might be "blown in" if I'm lucky.

The quote is for £315 including VAT.

Is this about right? Seems steep to me ...

Cheers, folks!

actually, providing the work is up to standard, that's not too bad. Most places work on a "per panel" costing.
If you were to go somewhere like Dream Machine say, I reckon you'd be over the £500 mark!!
Where the damage has been limited to "scratches" I've had excellent results with the local "Chipsaway" operator. Depends how bad the scratches are, but the finished job was invisible and looked completely original.
You may find cheaper..........but that isn't always the best course of action, especially on a new bike where some of the original panels will remain untouched. If it doesn't match up then it'll stand out like a sore thumb.
Whatever you end up paying, just make sure you get a perfectly matched paint job........................

Nelly. I think Loz will need a very big bag of chips for his repair!!:lol::lol:

Got to agree with Nelly Loz. I would be happy to do the repairs for you for the cost of my labour, but would be reluctant to get involved in matching paint etc.

Let me know if you want me to look at them. From what I remember they didn't look too bad at Rocky.

If I did the repairs for you, I would probably use a local guy to do the painting. Did my mate's 999R and he seemed pretty happy with the end result.

Nelly - thanks for the advice. I wasn't expecting it to be much more than £200, but if you say £315 isn't necessarily too much, I'll go with that.

Andyb -:lol::lol: Oh my aching sides! :P

Yeti - thanks for the offer, mate. I'll grill the local firm I'm thinking of using and if he doesn't inspire me with confidence, I may well take you up. Cheers.

Yeah, I do that with my 750 Sport, too. ;)
