o/t chip voltage whats the correct core voltage for an amd athlon xp 2400+2.0ghz |
I'm no expert, but the link below indicates 1.35 V, unless I'm completely wrong. Which I usually am. AMD XP 2400+ |
cheers |
quick update my puter kept crashing all the time the chip ive got is ment to run at 1.65 volts(cheers loz but that one you looked at was a laptop chip lower power useage) after being in contact with abit, who make my mother board it was suggested that i try upping the voltage to 1.725 volts. i have done this and everything is now running fine. does any one else think this sounds a bit iffy. |
D'oh! Musta been tired. Yes, definitely iffy. You absolutely sure which chip you've got? |
yep says it on the box puter auto detects it aswell, also has been running quitee hapily in me old board for a year or so puter also automaticly select right voltage aswell luckily this is manually over rideable |
Weird. Upping the voltage is something you might do to over-clock the chip (if I understand things right). :puzzled: It's at this point I bow out gracefully! |
Be careful when upping the voltage as you will also increase the heat dissipation. You can check with something like Winbond hardware doctor which will monitor your voltages and temperatures. Just be aware you might need some extra cooling. |
