Floating Disks

Can the discs on the 998 be modified to become full floaters?

I believe Tecmoto do a kit to convert semi's to fully floating. Thats about has much as I know. www.tecmoto.co.uk, under accessories

Yep. I've done mine. You can get the bobbins from several sources, including Brembo :smug: You use the bobbins, shims and clips from the fully floating discs spares list!!
I think I have one set of black ones left at £75. The Brembos are about the same money for a set to.
The worst bit is getting the old fixed ones out!! It's real tough taking an angle grinder to your Brembos ya know :o

Nelly
Can this be done one bobin at a time so that the disc does not need to removed from the bike?

No mate. You really do need to take a grinder to them!! a very nervous moment :(

Bob.....good luck mate...did this a few years ago on my R1 ...you might be better off shoping around for some fully floaters !

Bob, got a set of cast fully floaters surplus to requirments as I've fitted RS discs that run a wider offset. U2U me an offer if you're interested.
