Paint on tank? How thin is the paint on the tank. I have done 3650 miles on mine and the tank is looking shiny where my coat/leathers touch the tank. I don't really like the look of tankpads but don't want it to wear through either :( The frame paint seems thin with rust marks coming through so was wondering is bodywork paint thin to? |
From what i read mate it looks like you only have undercoat on your bike :o  Im after a tank pad aswell |
Chris, It is the better titanuim grey colour before they put on those horrible yellow/red topcoats:lol::lol::lol: Maybe that the shine is more noitceable at is normally a matt/satin finish on mine. |
Lee, Check out Spareshack for "Tankslappers". They are a transparent flexible film that you stick on the sides of the tank where your knees touch it. Almost invisible. Works a treat and you can peel them off and re-use them. |
Lee, I have a black tank protector on my titanium undercoated bike, and it looks ok. I found the only other option to letting it rub was to lose weight, but that was too hard.... Derek - those "tankslappers sound like a good idea" - I had a bit of rogue velcro on the knee of my leathers, and it scratched the tank. |
