Hydraulic workbech

Looking to buy one of these new fangled hydraulic workbenches to take the stress off the old knee's when working on the bike. any advise as to best one's to go for, value for money etc?

It's not going to take the sort of hammer you would expect from a proper bike workshop, so take that into account please.

Rough idea of price Mav?

Found this;

Still waiting to hear from him re delivery though.

I was looking at that thinking, the only thing I don't like is that you can't get the wheels off on it. Like you can on the Easyriser even though that lift is cheaper than the Easyriser.

But then I found that the mob that do the lift also do this

And only £85!!! (plus delivery obviously ...)

Looks good at first sight, but where exactly do you fit it on a duke? I for one don't fancy the sump taking the weight of the bike!

don't see why you would have a problem removing 9** wheels though? The front would roll out forward and the rear would simply slide off the hub when the bike is on the paddock stand surely?

TP 09-Nov-2004 14:24

Yeah the rear would come off fine, but what about any change in rear sprocket etc?

And if you took the front off, what is going to hold the weight up? You would have to have a front paddock stand in there as well, then you can't mess around with the forks etc ....

Which is why I was looking at one of the other styles of lift.

What is wrong with lifting via the sump? (Excuse my ignorance).

I was looking at one of these as well.

Tony, the easyrizer looks like it could be a useful tool. I'm half thinking about one to be honest.
The smaller lift, that lift cruisers etc. is not really any good for Ducati.
They are designed to lift on the lower frame rails of a cradle chassis. You could lift on the sump but the Ducati sump is tapered and you also have a downpipe in the way. Squashing that would really bugga the performance up ;)
