Front stand... I usually use a front stand that locates into the bottom of the fork legs, but was thinking about removing the forks for servicing. SO - will need to use I different stand I thought... Got my old front stand out, which is the type that locates under the bottom yoke, and then looked under the yoke to see what size adapter I need to go into the hole in the bottom yoke/streering stem...... Can you see it coming yet? Turns out - there is no hole!!!! Any idea's on alternative's? |
chris 2 uprights and a pole across through the frame ! works 4 me !;) |
What do you use for the uprights Mav? And I take it you put some kind of protective material between the pole and the frame? |
Chris i had 2 aluminum uprights Made with feet on bottom! AND YES THE POLE THAT GOES THROUGH THE FRAME IS COVERED WITH hIGH DENSITY FOAM !! hope this helps...mav |
I use a ABBA stand, works great as it lifts the bike by the swingarms pivot. |
I hang mine from the garage roof using one of my tie downs around the head stock. |

Picked up an ABBA stand yesterday at NEC. Just this minute tried it. Seems to work well. |
I use an ABBA stand to. Chock under the front cylinder and the whole front end can be pulled out. |
Ditto what nelly does. Actually found a use for the spare bits of fence post kicking around.. |
I'm another on ethat hangs it from the garage roof with a ratchet strap. Works well enough, but the bike is obviously less steady than when on a stand. Two uprights and a pole seem a better way to go but you've still got to lift the front end up and get the pole at the right height. The ratchet strap could come in handy here. I'll give it a go next time. |
