Biker down - RIP
 

Happened on my road last night, probably 100 yds away.... :(

Me and Lily awoken by the sirens, looked nasty at the time from what we could see.

The guy's died from his injuries, pillion in a serious way.

Can't help feeling my decision to quit road riding was justified. It's just not a good time to be on the roads.

I think I am actually a bit shocked :(

It was literally just outside the house, so I walked out to see what was going on, as i got just down the road i saw the biker and the bike and walked back and told Freak not to look as it was a biker, so we went back and waited until all sirens/flashing lights had gone before being able to sleep.

Just saw the news report and feel quite shocked. Don't really know how it happened but could make a reasonable guess, but without facts its wrong to speculate i guess.

That time of night and wet roads, it doesn't take much to work out sadly.

Must've shaken you up quite a bit Lily. Never easy seeing something like that and it really brings home how vulnerable we all are. Poor guy.

hmmm, sadly it looked abit more obvious than that. I can't judge as I dont know the speeds of the vehicles involved (its a 30 but people race up and down the road) but it was fairly clear from the impact/positions etc that the car had turned right into a side road across the path of the bike :(

As I said its not right to blame the car as the bike may well have been speeding or at fault as well, but its still pretty sad :(

Obivous condolences to all concerned whether bystanders participants or witnesses.

Your time to go is never the right time and I don't dwell on the subject, but is your own house in order should such an unthinkable thing happen to you? I know mine is.

Have you also given up driving walking using electrical appliances and all the other things that kill people every day?
