Diablo or Diablo Corsa Right,i'm having a tyre change from my 012ss.I have already bought a Diablo Corsa front tyre and am now debating on whether or not to fit a Diablo Corsa or standard Diablo to the rear.My theory being, rightly or wrongly(i'm sure someone will put me right!!),is that if riding in the wet,i am more likely to lose the front than the rear due to the fact that the Diablo has more silica in it,therefore is better in the wet. This not being a good thing.I do 2 TD's a year and the rest is fastish(Yella will no doubt disagree!!) road riding.I only ride in the wet if i'm unlucky!!(like Mallory track attack!!).So,what do you all think? |
I think that riding style will have more effect than the difference between these tyres. Hopefully none of use will find out.. |
You may be right! |
I got 2600miles from my rear Corsa & have been out in the wet on them & they are better than me ! I dont need any more miles than that , as that would see me most of summer then a new set near the end of the year ! Unless i get abroad ! |
I had Corsa front, Corsa rear. Unconvinced on these tyres but as said in threads before its personal preference and confidence in the tyre. Having ridden Bridgestones for years im off back to em, 012SS's, cheers Jasp. I have not found the Corsas wanting its just I prefer the Bridgestones in my head and I know their wet weather performance is excellent, kneedown in the wet will convince me every time. I have got 1800 miles from the Corsa rear. I dont do straight roads, motorways and major A roads are avoided but the tyres kept their shape very well until 1700 then they squared off a bit but not too noticeably when riding, i run 30psi front 32psi rear. Its personal preference mostly but I dont think you will out ride the standard Diablo on the road, not the way you ride :frog: Besides, you keep your tyres warm with your built in tyre warner/exhaust heat shiel dontcha? |
I agree its a personal thing , just depends on what you like from a tyre , i might just try something different next time as i know i can go back to the Corsa's But i have tried Mich/Bridge now P Corsa and i like the Corsa the best as IT SUITS ME the most :D |
Jasper I personally would not put a normal Diablo in the back with a Corsa in the front when it comes to wet roads. As with racing you don't want to push the front by having more grip at the rear. if your mainly riding on dry roads then it's a different story with the front offering more grip than the rear and a few years back was quite common at the TT and Manx with riders using a Corsa EVO front and a EVO rear as the rear Corsas suffered over 4 laps. I was out this afternoon on my 916 fitted with the standard Diablos, only did about 30 miles all on wet B roads and the tyres were rock solid with no moments and gave loads of feedback. Superb tyres |
Thanks all.Going for Corsa front and rear. |
