more from a 749?

Greetings,
I have an 04 749 and was considering upgrading to a 05 999 but can't afford to loose out on depriciation, so decided i'd try and find out what can be done to get some more power out of my rather nice 749. Have any of you got some thoughts on this, different routes to go down and possibly prices?
Cheers
Andy

You might want to check out this thread for ideas:

BCM here in the states have a big bore kit to make a 923 out of a 749. Maybe one of your shops can do the same? Sigma maybe? Here's the shop's website: http://www.bcmducati.com/

Nearly forgot my manners. First post. Great site you have here with fantastic info. Hope you don't mind a yank in your midst every once in a while. I will do my best to not murder the Queen's English!

Cheers,
John

I would imagine the depreciation would be less than what it would cost in engine work etc to get a 749 upto the 999

Obviously depends on what 749 you've got and what 999 you're after!

spartacus, try this thread http://217.199.188.40/xmb/viewthread.php?tid=12210 , expensive yes but I'd bet it wouldn't be far off half of the cost of Part Exchanging your 749 anaginst a 999. Keep all of your origional parts when you come to sell the bike change it back to standard then sell the upgrades and get 50%ish of your chash back.

Cheer for that JohnDa, seem to remember that thread now :rolleye: sounds promising, just hope the performance gains aren't confined to the 749R's and work on the standard 749/749s (though i doubt the gains would be as much).
