Wet wet wet.

Arghhhh! Almost!

After watching the forecast for days and days, ringing up the met office and studying the synoptic and radar charts, the weather just did what it wanted and to be honest I think we faired a lot better than I thought we were going to get. Dry, damp, wet testing and similar conditions in the races meant a fairly taxing weekend. But, at least we didn’t have to worry and have the phaff of wets or drys. I'm sure that will rumble on and on.

Quali was damp and I was reasonably happy with that which gave me a great chance in the races. First race I managed a reasonable start but with a few tough laps I ended up pretty much where I qualified. Happy not happy, can't decide to be honest but my lap times were a lot quicker.

Race two was wet and a totally different ball game. I don’t like getting wet, but enjoy the challenge of wet racing and for some reason I go okay in it. With a good start I managed to be bizarrely be doing okay and felt that I was being held up, sure the rear was wriggling about but happy enough. Before I knew it I was behind Chris and Kev P, again being held up, that’s Kev P!! OMG!! With a few shows of the front wheel to Chris and a few tough apexes I could see that I was quicker and had to have a proper go – first corner here we go - braking marker squeeze the brakes, bang! The front tucked and I was sliding down the track on my back with the bike along side. Boll*ck$!! Sorry to anyone that had to swerve and thanks for not running me over! I'll have to wave to you on another race Kev P! All in all, happy to be able to be up there in dreamland territory, but, well you know, could have, should have and all that. Bikes not too bad, and a bit of TLC and it’ll be back.

Another great weekend with DD although I do feel a bit sore today. GWS to all the other fallers, and well done to all the trophy huggers. Thanks to Trudie for the riders support, Jimbo for the tow, Kevs for another tow and Tom and Dallas for helping me load the van post crash. See you at Cadwell, hopefully wet again.

Just as a point If we can't have wets, could we have softer compounds……………..???
