after having the bike weighed at oulton it came in at 165 kg's

there's nothing on the bike that doesn't need to be
alloy front sub
single underseat exhaust
trimmed electrics

got me thinking how i could shed a little but apart from a race battery and the alloy swingarm i've been scratching my head a bit.

did anyone get anywhere near the magic 150 or is it going to be damn near impossible

anyone got any weightsaving tips they'd care to share?

My class B bike was 152 then added another disc to make it legal at 154. My class A is 157Kg I think Dallas has me beat on weight and the track. :rolleyes:

did you do anything special to get it down to that

i'm thinkin battery and swingarm would save me another 3 kg .. that's still 6 kg over yours then:confused:

Battery can be a big one, tank another as phils is grams not kilos ;) swing arm not massive, bodywork can be a lot (my 998 fairings are probably a good 5 kilos) extra disc Dallas doesnt have with a caliper can be another few kilos....all adds up

Bally I've been at it since 2008 its just an iteration progression. As you are in the same class as me I can't start giving tips to make it easier for you. I'm old and need any advantage I can get. :D :eek: :lol:

He did at Oulton, as he is now running twin Brembo Clubman discs, with radial 4-pad calipers
Steel tank is a big weight saving on the plastic ones be it a Monster Steel tank or a 916 tank like Dallas's. His Inconel exhaust mated to a carbon can is probably one of his biggest weight saving advantages over many of the bikes on the grid.
Although most of the guys that have done the Class A winning over the years have bikes weighing a fair few Kilos more than Dallas's

i'll best tanks don't come cheap .. had noticed a lot of you use the older ss tanks in pref to the newer ones .. is there much between them?

did consider going naked but i like the look of the 1098 fairings and i find them useful in a crash

Have a search n the forum, Skids and some other have put weights up Of tanks etc

Fwiw plan was to change my monster tank for a 916, junk air box and lithium battery instead of gel ne fitted ( I have all the bits) and that little lot saves c6-7 kilos alone right under your chin. But as I may not be racing again....
