Alarms For ST

Just wondering which alarm systems you all use ...if any.
mine has the factory immobiliser and i was also wondering if this causes conflicts with the other alarm / immobiliser systems?
If it does are there any recomendations /for alarms without built in immmobilisers?

Datatool Veto Evo

Seems OK to me, never had a problem with it, but then my bike doesn't have a factory immobiliser

I don't have one fitted to my ST2 (July 99)
they seem more trouble than they are worth

steering lock and disc lock for day use and additional cable lock through the rear wheel and swing arm for overnight use.

Who is going to nick an ST2..?? An opportunist maybe but I doubt to order.
The 4s maybe for the engine, even the 4 for the 916 motor but not a 2

Aotearoa 27-Jun-2003 15:44

Mate dispite what some people say about NZ ...THEY WILL nick anything !!

But i was having the same thought just use the disk lock etc.
I quite liked the idea of a paging and tracking system but A : I don't know if they have it in NZ and B: It's bloody expensive here so proably even worse in NZ.....Ohh well guess I'll just have to sleep in the garage with it ...or park it in the bedroom....owch i can feel the broom from here!
:P:P

reminds me of that Ad that yamaha ran. bloke on drive washing down his bike, hosepipe in hand, house on fire, him oblivious..!!

Sleep with her, there are plenty who have their bikes in doors. You could be kind and carpet the garage for the Mrs..!!

The GPS trackers are a great idea but are they worth it for the bike. Prices have just come down, £6k for a new ST2. Bet the tracker is over a grand..?? And so what if you find it, thrashed, smashed and beaten up...would you want the bike after that..??

My approach to security has always been to prevent the theft in the first place, layered security.

I read somewhere of a guy who rigged his garage door to shotgun cartridges (he had removed the lead shot..!!) Open the door and BANG. Reckoned on getting the attempted thief via DNA of the brown stain !

I have also read of a motion video system which you can rig up in the garage and starts if movement is detected. Vid is in the hiuse or loft so out of sight, only a sensor and small camera lense in the garage. Proof and evidence in one..??

.....watch the rugby....?? (hehehe!!)

roll on the world cup

Ant

RUGBY WHATS THAT??...
No i didn't watch it but by the s****** i guess we lost to the French as well?!
Oh well all i can say is ....We'll be back!
:devil::devil:

anthony 30-Jun-2003 09:30

well no, you just scraped a win over the French B team, 31 - 23..!!

ovals are better than sphere's..!!

Aotearoa 30-Jun-2003 15:11

...REALLY ?!...well atleast they won something....has been a while ....Hopefully they are just trying to lull everyone into a false sence of security?????...Atleast this world cup will be a little less predictable ( read the Aussies aren't expected to stomp everyone! ) You guys are looking good!
....I am hoping to get over to Aussie for a couple of the games ...see if i can get a DSC flag made and wave at you guy's....although you might not like the background being the NZ flag!!!:sing::sing:

anthony 30-Jun-2003 15:28

Mr green with envy here..!!

we have some flags somewhere, i'll find one for you

need a bag carrier..??

should be a great tournament, French concede they are out of the running. England Vs NZ final in Australia...oh yes please..

Aotearoa 01-Jul-2003 08:45

...Anthony mate, that sounds like a dam good final !:D

...although i suspect it could be a England Vs Aussie final.....
