SHOWA REAR SPRING

Can any one please tell me if the rear spring on the Showa shock is powder coated or just covered in two pack paint. I've just bought one off ebay to overhaul (mine leaks a bit) and wanted to make the spring look sexy again as it's got some stone chips on it.

I 'm a bit concered about the temperatures reached in the curing process when powder coating. The ovens I've seen used do not seem to temperature critical.

Thanks in advance

Not sure what the original finish is but I have had quite a few springs powder coated with excellent results

Hancy, fairly certain the originals are simply painted. Any decent two pack wilol give you a decent finish especially if you varnish it afterwards with a "tough coat" Pu clear varnish. Not only that, but if it gets chipped again you can touch it up fairly easily.

If you not in any particular hurry for it, send it to me and I'll paint it for you in the booth. FOC for club members of course.
