Late booking on a flight going anywhere?
 

Every year I like an adventure, but usually have it planned out in that I have a return flight somewhere but never more than that.
Been all over the place.

This year I may wing-it, and don't mind a week somewhere even if it's a location I've been to b4.

Any thoughths on late, late bookings to be had?
And I am talking stand-by flights here, of 1 hours duration or so.
Does anything like that exist and if so where?

1 hour will just about get you into Europe if you're lucky!

Have a look at Ryanair. They may not be the best aircraft with the best seats, but for the price you really cannot beat them and you can book well in advance for silly money.

At present I'm more interested in being able to jump at late notice and get a bargin going somewhere really interesting, not sure if such things exist.

Anyone experience of Teletex - which I don't have but it maybe available on the web?

Teletext have been a bit hit'n'miss for me in the past. I have booked a couple of good holidays on there for very little money, but I've also phoned about offers only to be told that they'd "all gone".

You may be better off getting friendly with your local travel agent and getting them to do the leg-work for you.

When i worked in dublin I'd to just show up at the airport and go along the desks asking what tickets they had for blighty. If they wouldn't part with them for cheap then i wouldn't bother... but less than an hour b4 departure and they're desperate to fill the empty seats.

You can do the same for anywhere that's not needing a visa. Just ask what they've got going where for a tenner!
