Biking ideas please???!!! The other half has kindly offered to provide for me some form of biking entertainment for my 30th birthday :D A few years back there was the 'Ducati Experience' run at a few circuits, but I think this has now ceased. As that was her present idea, she's now been scuppered. I've been riding for 4 years and have a 749S. I've never been on a track (on a bike at least...) and would consider myself to be slightly slower than average in bike speed terms. I've read both "Twist of the Wrist" books several times and I use those techniques regularly on the road. I'd rather not do a regular track day on my Duke (don't trust other idiots not to T-bone me). I've thought about doing the Premier class at the Ron Haslam Race School, but is there anything else worth considering? [Edited on 9-12-2004 by Twinfan] |
I think DRE is still going, it was at WDW '04. There used to be a link on Ducatis web site. Failing that, try Ducati UK. |
Cheers - I know you can do the Italian circuits, but you used to be able to do Oulton and Cadwell (I think) but this has stopped as far as I know. |
TW, get yourself booked on the DSC track day at Cadwell in July. I can almost guarantee you'll have a blast both ON and OFF track. Great crowd, good company and CADWELL - you know it makes sense! |
ditto the above. or go for a css day. superb tuition and a grreat day out on track in a more controlled enviroment. |
Hi there.... Here is a good list of organisers: http://www.biketrackdays.co.uk/dates/organisers.html I'm sure the guys here will recommend either the CSS or ESS schools but I've read very good reviews about the Mick Boddice school and will be giving them a try during 2005 (the sooner the better I think !!!) http://www.boddicedarleytraining.co.uk/ The bikes are included - I've seen good things about the RH school and always wanted to ride Donington but the track time is limited and your have to do the 'starter' class BEFORE being able to move onto the Fireblade school. Good luck and - WHAT A GREAT WIFEY !!!!!!!!! Frank |

Where are the pictures? |
Definitely CSS - see here |
IF you've read the books, you need to do the CSS, the books are good, but actually sitting in a classroom and discussing it are worlds, WORLDS apart I say :D |
