I don't envy Jack. I wonder how long his going to last.

Henners 13-Jan-2005 22:44

Cobblers!!!

If you saw the racing in 2003 - particuarly Silverstone, Monza, Brands - and the DVD where it was clear Neil was campaigning a brand new race bike; the only data they had was for Valencia - you'd realise that Foggy was talking b*ll*cks as usual. What he hopes to gain God only knows. Time for a new Hon President methinks :flame::flame::flame:

I don't often agree with Mr. Fog but I think he's spot on there about Hodgson's world title.

Twinfan 14-Jan-2005 15:10

Aye, I agree too. First time I've ever agreed with Foggy!

Who were the "other two" riders Ducati wanted for WSB then?

Simon Reed 14-Jan-2005 17:14

Perhaps this should be the topic of a new post ???
Foggy or Hodgy !,clearly oppinion is divided, yes you can't take away that foggys done what he's done, but hodgy's won a title fair & square ?? after all,he still had to ride the thing & finish !!!

The thing that gets me with foggy is,he opens his mouth without thinking, look what he said about Doohan last year !!! he'll be saying he'd av beaten Rossi next !!!
Hodgy gets my vote anyway !

I've nothing against Hodgson, I just happen to agree with Fogarty (for once) that he (Hodgson) had very little real competition for the 2003 WSB title.

He was also somewhat fortunate when Walker blew up in the last race of whichever year it was when he (Hodgson) won the BSB title.

Henners 14-Jan-2005 19:02

2000 was Hodgson's year with 2 WSB wild card wins against world class competition and factory bikes. I'll never forget round 13 at Olton when he stalled on the grid and had to start from the back row - still won it by a country mile - sheer class :frog: Walker was unlucky, but you could say the same about the years 1997 to 1999 when he came 2nd each year also.

Hodgson had to get the new 999 to the line all through 2003 with no settings and with dicky weight distribution problems which didn't get sorted out until late last year. He won the World Championship and no one can take it away from him - like him or not.

Ditto Henners !!!!,that 2000 race of Hodgys @ Oulton m8,was awesome, just awesome, everyone should watch it,"it should be the law "!

Whilst in a deep conversation about 999 suspension, being mesmorised by John Hackett, he was of the opinion that what Hodgson achieved on the 999 in 2003 was nothing short of a miracle.

With very little base settings to work with, and starting from scratch at virtually every circuit, the amount of victories was incredible.

It was also interesting to listen how far they had come with the jhp749 settings.
