Clutch for 748R

Guess I have to change my clutch this spring. It has started to slip a bit when I stand still and start moving. Guess thats a good sign that it`s about time to change it. I`ve searched a bit on the net and found this one.

Anyone who know if this is a good one?

are you thinking about changing the whole clutch or just the plates. Just the plates is the less expensive option.

HellOnWheels 09-Feb-2005 21:42

I`m thinking about changing the plates and the basket. Is it possible to use my old pressureplate (and the other parts)?

Hell

If its just slipping all you should need is new plates although if the basket is worn its worth replacing at the same time. Unless its damaged you should be able to keep all other parts.

If you fancy a nice 'bling' pressure plate though see Nelly as he has some trick ones or as with me go for the nice Jhp one and titanium clutch cover :)

there you go then, I got mine from Sigma performance, they even sent me the correct tool for the job ,when finished i sent it back. perfect. and it does look smart. does the job also. they have two different varieties, one quite a bit of money, the other a lota lota money. both spot on though.

Guess I have to check the condition of my basket, and maybe be lucky enough to just have to change the plates. Just found out that my Øhlins have started to leak, so I have to have a service on them and change the brake pads:mad:

Funny how this bike rips my wallet apart and I still love her.

my wallet has been turned inside out many times, oh what joy:D

Just remember though, that if you use your bike on the continent and suffer clutch failure. You have more chance of getting replacments for a Bucci or other type clutch than that of a STM cutch. You can't use std plates on a STM clutch
