Is it necassary to change the clutch and brake pipes as stated in the instructions ( the instructions say yes, the web site says no !)

Also I foun my set didn't have the bolt to attche the clamps to the fork leg ( m8 x 1.25 x 20 Allen bolt) any ideas wher can get one? I have asked spareshack who sulppied the raisers ...

Any fixings suplier should keep common sizes like that. Look in your yellow pages.

Next question ... fitment method is "remove top triple tree". No problem , I can do that. Undo the steering damper, undo the three allen bolts on the fork yoke.

Now what do I do ... hit it with a rubber mallet? Cos it tis very firmly in place and doesn't want to move.

I have looked in a Haines manual, but unfortunately they assume some mechanical competancy ! There is the central fitment in the middle of the yoke ... slot down the middle, and holes around the out side. Does this have to be loosened? And if so how?

There'll be some twisting force on the top yoke wedging it in place. Take the weight off the fromt wheel by jacking under the engine, or use Abba stand, then it should wiggle off easy enough.

Rubber mallet is always useful to have around. The centre boss is the bearing preload. You don't want/need to touch that.

Basically tw*t with a mallet .... my sort of mechanics ..... but I will stick it in an ABBA stand first.

Last question ... if I do detach the clutch and brake reserviours, which having looked at it seems a much do, will I have to bleed both these systems, or will gravity be enough to it sort out ?

I did not need to bleed mine (cycle cat) just fitted the longer to to the reservoiors and they were fine.

Removing the top yolk seems daunting but as previously stated just **** it with a rubber mallet

Everything has gone ok, bars in place etc ....

Now I am trying to re-attach the hydraulic pipes for the clutch and brake reserviours. Bit of a problem .... the std Duke ones are aroun 10 mm outer diameter and the CC ones are 12-13 mm.

One you put the metal spring clip on, there is no way they are going to go over the "male" mounts on the lever and reserviour. And I worry about breaking these mounting points.

Any suggestions?

They will go over, you need to have the clip on the hose, not over the bit that will fit the "male" mount.

Once the hose is over the male mount then slide the clip down over the male mount Sorted!
