57mm pipes Iv currently got 54 mm termi system on the bike,Andy at Zorstec says he can alter my existing system to either 57 or 60mm. What i was wondering is are all termi cans the same (ie 54/57mm) and is that the only difference ( the size of the pipes) I know ill have to fit a power commander and set the thing up , But andy recon's it will only cost around £350 to alter the pipes Or is there more to it than this :puzzled: |
Assuming you have 2-1-2 system 60mm will be a very very tight fit with a standard swing arm. To exploit the full potential of the bigger pipes you would need to port the heads - not a requirement - but if your not going to do it theres no real need to buy the bigger diameter pipes other than pose value - think of it in terms of overall engine development rather than big pipes therefore big power, big pipes will accomodate more engine development than small pipes and therefore allow ultimately more power. My S has 57's fitted and the heads ported and goes like stink with a PC3 and a custom map. I could not say if the end box was the same or not, mines titanium tho' - bling! |
i think the cans are the same, just the pipe work is different. dont honestly know how much difference you would get. my 's' with a 54 system is practically the same as andy b's 'r' with a 57. he has literally 2 more bhp at the peak but i actually have a bit more lower down. torque is comparable. if you wanted to see the charts they are on the board somewhere. will try to find the link. |
