if u are trying to open the pdf from a web page then right click and save it to your pc first, then open it ... |

Nope! that didn't work. Any other ideas???? Bearing in mind that computers were invented 2000 years beyond my understanding of how they work. Doogalman |

What version of Acrobat are you using? It may be that you have an old version? |

Sorry mate. Not a clue. As said computers are not my forte. Thought that there may have been something simple that i was missing. Will try and find out. Doogalman |

Open Adobe Reader program and it should display the version as it fires up. If not, on the HELP pull-down menu click "About Adobe Reader" and it'll tell you. Version 6.0 or higher should read all pdf files just fine. You can download the latest version here: http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/readstep2.html Or maybe the file you're trying to open is knackered! Get someone else to try opening it to see if it's ok. |

Sounds like it may not actually be a pdf, but has been named wrongly with .pdf as its extension. If you try saving it and then opening it in notepad, if it's a pdf then the first line should start something like this: %PDF-1.4 |

As has been said is it actually a PDF? Do you have acrobat reader associated with PDF file types? |
