Monster v Tuono? Following on from the thread I posted about me thinking of getting a Monster here - is there anyone on here who's ridden both the 900/1000 Monster and Aprilia's Tuono? I like the look of the 'Priller and I'd love the next bike to be another twin so it seems it's a choice between these two. (Unless someone's got another suggestion?). :eureka: <Edit> Obviously I should have put "Please post up your opinions and comparisons." (D'oh!) :) [Edited on 10-3-2005 by eccles291] |
Had a go on a Tuono before I brought my S4r, great engine handles well but a bit tall for me, felt more comfortable and in control on the S4r so brought that :D Had a M1000 for a day while the S4r was having a service, was a very good bike loads of grunt and on a twisty road would stay with the S4r, was still glad to get the S4r back though  Have a look around as there are some S4r's about secondhand now at quite a bit less than the £8k new price :eureka: Darren |
Well, I test rode a Tuono at the weekend and didn't really get on with it. Not sure if the suspension was badly set-up but cornering on it was, erm, an experience. It really didn't seem to want to go round corners, just kept sitting up. :o Also I wasn't so keen on the clocks but the engine was absolutely awesome!! :bouncy: Pity I didn't like the rest of the package. I also managed to take an 800 Monster out which I got on with much better. Cornering was much easier and although the engine was (unsurprisingly) not as powerful as the Tuono, it was still strong enough to leave a grin. I can only assume that the 1000 Monster makes the grin wider! Now I know which of the two I'll be getting... I've just gotta sell the 996. :( (See the Market Place for details). |
:devil:Get a watercooled one..you know it makes sense:saint: |

Monsters are ok but why on earth would you want to sell a nice 996S to get one ? |
eccles.................You want one of these............. |
Get this weeks MCN, big test on all of the naked bikes. The new speed triple is the bike of choice by all accounts |
Mate of mine has orderd a Trumpet, will have to do some back to back tests when he gets it  Watercooleds the way to go that extra bit of weight over the front helps the handling :D Darren |
