Brake Question Will the P4 calliper go straight on the 600ss fork leg and would the disk have to be changed.? cheers Phil. [Edited on 21-3-2005 by fil2] |

 I've got you worried haven't I ;) |
the P34s are all 65mm mounts as far as I know where as our older SS's have 40mm mounts. |

I promise to lose a bit more weight to make it easier for you. :) |
Single cast disc, original SS calliper, aeroquip hose and a later mastercylinder (standard production Brembo with the bleed nipple) as in the last pic posted in my Desmo Due Diary |
I've gone for twin disks up front as I managed to get a pair of forks, twin disks, twin calipers (40mm from a 916) and a 916 master cyclinder all for under £200 - that's without selling the original disk, caliper, m/cylinder and forks! I definitely think that the next step up in braking power is to go from a single to a twin disk, and then from that point to start worrying about radial m/cylinders, different calipers and the later, lighter brake disks. |
Phil not only does my budget rule out getting to flash in the braking department, although I could easily fit the Radial from my 916 or TL I see little point especially as my mates that have raced SuperMonos and a like will take the Pi55 out of me (yes Glyn that means you if you are reading this) |

A later OEM Brembo 320mm disk weighs a lot less than the original disks the SS bikes use. In terms of a percentage increase of the combined wheel, original brake and tyre this is very minimal, but the gain in braking power is substantial. As they say in racing, you need to be either on the gas or on the brakes - if you're not then you're not doing it right. |
