How much for a pair of Cambelts? just a quickie!, havn't phoned round yet, but was wondering where to get the cheapest Genuine Ducati belts. Regards. |
Lasty pair i got was about £65 for my 916 |
Interesting. How easy is it to change the cam belts yourself, I do a bit of spannering, nothing too heavy (no engine rebuilds here my friend ) but with a bit of nowledge, is it an easy`ish job? [Edited on 28-3-2005 by The996Master] |

I don't think Britain's top most Butcher would entertain a 'heart-transplant' so I say "leave it to the Pro's". Your Ducati depends on it ! Delooney. |
Belts cost me £60+ for my 888. If you've even a little mechanical understanding, the job's not difficult - taking around 3 hrs start to finish. (Replaced my own belts last summer, on the grounds that I wouldn't let the 'pros' in my neck of the woods even wash my bike! I used Skidlids' link as a guide. No problems). |
Any sites for doing 2V's or is it basically the same as for 4V's |
Couldn't be much easier for 2v: http://www.ducatisuite.com/beltchange.html I've used the 5mm/6mm allen-key settings for a year now and never had any problems. Be careful with torqueing the tensioner bolts up though as the alloy feels a little 'soft'. You will also want to check them after a few miles to make sure they've bedded in without generating too much slack. |
