999 stalling any ideas Got my bike back from it's first service yesterday, usual bits needed replacing..........anyway decided to ride into London today (mad idea I know). Several times when slowing down through the gears when appraoching busy roundabouts and junctions the engine would just die! Managed to paddle to safety, click back to neutral it would fire up no problem then down the road same thing would happen...........and sometimes it would feel that the over run was too fast like the choke was on ( which it wasn't) me thinks back to dealer Saturday morning! just wondered if any one else had this prob?:puzzled: |
I think quite a few 749/999 suffered this. Mine did, its back from its first service later today hopefully cured. I know Wylie 1 had his sorted at ProTwins if I recall correctly a thread a few weeks back. |
I think JPM, guest1 and quite a few others may have some ideas. Have a look in the 749 999 technical section - should be plenty to read about!!!!! |
Exactly same problem here, Ill have a look for the thread on it, quite extensive.. |
Didn't Pedro have the same issue? I think he eventually had the loom replaced by JHP Alan and me seem to be suffering from just running badly/1 cylinder, which as far as I am aware is down to the coils, and there is now an updated part being used. |
I had this problem after the first service (on 749s). Every time the revs dropped at a junction it would stall. I took it back to the dealer and they admitted that they had a dodgy batch of CO filters in the balancing equipment and it was fine after they replaced them and redid it. No idea whether that is any help or not [Edited on 6-4-2005 by HW] |
