i got my 748 serviced today by richard at louigimoto and would like to recommend him to anyone,i travelled 180miles to get it done and it was worth every minute

no detail was missed, all melting wires were replaced, everything was lubed up, suspension was set up for me, nothing was too much trouble for him, a quality service i must say :roll: i will definetly be going back

had a lovely ride home and what a difference its made, smooth easy gear changes, smoother ride and a bit more grunt from her, its amazing what you can do when you know how

all i need to do now is get a new chain and sprocket and were all set for a good seasons riding ;)

Nice one, picked mine up from it's service yesterday. Just need to put all the plastics back on and get it MOT'd and taxed. Hopefully I'll have it done before this weekend and it's maiden 2005 journey will be to the Snell's open day! Woohoo!

Louigi does those Talon chains and they are the dogs! Didn't he try to sell you one? :) Got one on my bike, and it's had a hard life, used in all weathers, and it's at the age where I'd be replacing other chains, yet it's as sweet as anything, and first-to-second changes are absolutely smooth, without the slightest "clunk". One of them and a quick-release sprocket carrier (if you haven't got one already), and you're sorted.

Glad you got sorted out, anyway. I spoke to him briefly on the phone on Sat am, and I said, "Did that guy come down from Cornwall?", and he said he was working on your bike at the time.

nope he didnt try selling me one as i didnt have the cash at the time but ive just sold my rvf today so i have the cash now

the bike has a stm sprocket on it at the moment and also a aftermarket sprocket carrier ( dont know how to tell the make of it mind you). can i fit any sprocket to a carrier or do you have to stick to one make ???

need to get mine mot'ed and taxed, went to tax it on friday only to fing my mot ran out on the 12th feb, oops !!!

If it's an STM sprocket I'd put money on it being an STM carrier. Other makes seem to fit other carriers but I seem to remember that STM's are unique in that way.

I have an STM carrier that I bought very cheap. After seeing the price of their sprockets I decided to get a renthal carrier and sprocket fitted last service and I'm going to flog the STM carrier on e-bay.

good to me you to mate, have a great time in jerez and dont do a xaus whatever you do. im sure you'll be fine out there, realx and enjoy yourself thats what holidays are for..

ive had a great blast on it today, pulled my first proper wheelie ( nearly 3foot high, yeah !! ) not much compared to some but im well chuffed

bike handles really well now, soon be needing more knee sliders. once the chains sorted i'll be over the moon and off to france

The STM carrier will only accept the STM sprockets unfortunately. Might be able to order them in specially though. I'll find out for you and let you know.
