To Agip or not to Agip Looking at doing the SP4 colour scheme soon. Can't make up my mind if I should put the Agip decals on as well. They seem to be on lots of bikes but are not standard. What do you all think? Rgds, Rob |
Agip were the official oil supplier at the time of the SP4, as Shell are nowadays. Other than the sticker near the oil filler, i don't think any agip stickers were standard fitment to any of the models of that era? although many bikes have had them stuck on. It's just so "italian"................... The Agip logo is one of motorsports all time classics. Still looks good and most people with half a clue about bikes/motorsport will associate the decal/logo with the Agip brand. If you need a couple, mail me ;) |
Rob.. Paolo Conti's book 'Ducati Superbikes' shows the SP4 to have had the Agip decals already on its fairing in the factory publicity shot. The Strada and SP5, however, do not have them. [Edited on 10-4-2005 by weeveetwin] |
Hmm,I have the official 888/SP4 brochure and guess what?..........No Agip sticker.I guess some bikes had them and others not.. |
Deffo Rob...like termi stickers I guess they just look 'right'. First thing I put on my 888 when I got it !!! Interestingly enough..my neighbour said to me when I first moved in "...oohh, you can see why they call them the ferraris of the bike world..theyve even got the same yellow badge..."... Nat |
The first thing I put on mine too Rob,but I`m not sure if I`m going to put them on the carbon bodywork when it returns thou....... |
For what it's worth, my SP3 has Agip stickers; from what I've heard of the previous owner, I'd guess they're original. Andrew |
