Steering head bearings

Hi Folks,

Quick question -

What is the favourite way to lift the front wheel to check and adjust steering head bearings?

I've used axle stands on the rear-sets and a trolley jack under the horizontal cylinder before now, but I'm nervous about lifting from the front cylinder head.

Any suggestions?

Exactly as you described. I just pad the jack with a block of wood.

Strip the whole front end this way when I was swapping forks around

I hang the bike from the garage roof using a strap through the frame behind the headstock.

No chance of damaging anything.

I just noticed that I didn't say thanks for your responses, so - thanks Guys.

Did head bearings in my previous way - all OK.

I've been a bit distracted as I've just been to Nogaro for 2 days on track.

Aweshome!
