Analysis of our fave weekly read..... NO !!! Not women's weekly the other one..... Nightshifts can be a terrible thing...I happened to be trapped in a small cabin with rain lashing down all around last night, unable to even get back to our main building with only a 6th Apr copy of MCN that I'd read from cover to cover for company....... So I started to wonder what exactly we get for our £1.70 since the actual amount of 'copy' seemed to be deminishing in my opinion. Out of the 60 pages of the main paper I thought I'd see how many carried adverts.... 25 - partial pages with 25% or more of ads. 10 - full page ads. 25 - pages with no adverts at all. Of the 25 partial pages the breakdown is... 13 - with 25% advertising 12 - between 40 and 50% advertising in total equivalent to another 8 1/2 pages of adverts. 41 1/2 pages of non-advertising in total. The Bikemart section is another 60 pages of total adverts this time (which we would obviously want and expect) and there was also the treat of a MotoGP suppliment but, even this had some adverts appear on it as well but lets gloss over that. Things are getting fuzzy now - eyes are getting sleepy but I think I got up to 132 pages in total with around 52 pages of non-adverts (roughly 60% of the paper is adverts). Roll on tonight :bouncy::bouncy::bouncy::bouncy::bouncy: Frank |
Frank.... I can recommend Motorcycle Racer magazine - a mere full pages of adverts compared to 85 pages of articles - that's just 15% adverts. By far the best value magazine out there, and the content is good too! |
Frank Have you started to count the ceiling tiles yet?:D |
How many pages were devoted to the R1? When I used to buy it, thats all they were interested in- have they moved on to another bike yet? |
LOL - yes - the new Triumph triple, don't mind at least its British(ish). Frank ps - ceiling tiles are wayyy to easy ;) |
I thought MCN changed its name recently to the Triumph Times every issue seems to have a main article on a Trumpet along with hundreds of ads for their dealers. |
Have to agree with the ad thing as it seems to be full of it at the mo :sniff: Also it use to be better with the sport section at the rear :D |
