Front brakes seized.....bike now returned

Last thursday after nearly four weeks I picked up my bike. Everything to do with the front brakes, (from the lever down) has been replaced. Driving it home in the rain was an interesting experience, getting on it after nearly four weeks on the R6 was strange, i'd forgotten just how different the 749 is. Took it out on saturday for a 200 mile round trip, everything was fine except for when the engine died after i'd pulled in, filtering through traffic. This was after 43 miles of motorway, so the engine wasn't cold - kinda erases the good feeling of having the bike back when it does the unexpected. Anyway, it's good to be out and about again.

Thanks to James at Hurst's for all his good work!

Glad to hear you've got your bike sorted.

I'm still waiting on the report from Brembo and the Ducati factory...

Hey Twinfan.

Even though I have the bike back, i'm still very interested to hear from Ducati and the conclusion's they've drawn from the safety report. For my part, this is still on going. Getting the bike back was the easy part, getting your condidence back is another matter!

Nero, glad the bike is back.

What explanation have you been given. My cut out was sorted at first service by the dealer when I had the Termis fitted.

Twinfan, any news yours seems to have been going on an age now mate?

Best of luck with both and I hope you find your confidence again soon to enjoy the special Ducati experience.

Do you mean for the brakes seizing or engine cutting out?:puzzled:

Jobr - nothing will be happening to my bike until the report is completed and I have seen a copy. I can't see why it's taking so long as they have had the callipers/cylinders/lines in Italy for 4 weeks and the discs for nearly 2 weeks. If I took that long to write a report I'd be fired!

It's just wait, wait, wait...

Nice to see 2 out of 3 brake problems fixed !
Getting your head round the confidence thing is another problem
youve just gotta get out there and ride and do a load of miles .... its the only way !!
twinfan .. hang in there , you will get answers sooner than later !
