slipper probs or not. getting back home from donny today, blistering hot, loads of traffic and hold ups I noticed that the clutch lever felt notchy and then it wouldn't disengage. Got off to have a look and the clutch was very, very hot. Managed to get back home ok and once left to cool down everything is back to normal. Do you think this is just the hot weather combined with start / stop traffic at donny or something else. I'll give JHP a ring tomorrow for his opinion but if anyone else has encountered this prob, please let me know. Jon |
Had similar problem with mine, again lots of stop start traffic. Once it cooled down no problem. Hasn't happened since. When John tells you what the problem is tell me because it is one of his clutches i have fitted to my bike.;) |
I guess its down to the clutch being designed for track racing / high speed performance. You don't get many 10 mile traffic Q's on a track, unless your behind me! :D |
Mmmmm... Had this on mine, mine was the large (32mm) nut had come loose, and the hub etc had some play in there, OK up the box, couldn't go down, unable to disengage at lights etc... Try removing the pressure plate and checking the torque of the nut, loctite it in place if you already haven't. |
JP sounds just like it I'll check it out, did'nt have time today to ring JHP. Will try this first and give it a whirl. Thx guys Jon |
JP just finished putting it back together. It turned out to be exactley what you said. I was not sure just how much loctite to put on first time so gave it a bit more this time. I will take it out for a spin tomorrow and check it on my return.:) Ta Jon |
