Avtar

Four years Ive been subscribing to this site and I have only now decided I might try one of these Avtar pic's i see so many people using. I presume I am talking the right terminology for the picture on the left of the post???

I'm a little technically challenged when it comes to this site. I tend to look at the posts on most subjects but can't seem to do some of the things you lot get upto.

Help gratefully received

:puzzled:

Just go to Control Panel / Edit Profile and scroll down to the Avatar section and click Browse then navigate to the pic you want to use (it must be no more than 155x155 pixels in size and also be either a GIF or JPG file ) select it then click open then click edit profile at the bottom of the page and that should be it , if theres any problems you will get an error message detailing them .

Sorted :)

Does anyone know how to convert an .mpg or .wmv file into a .gif?

Zimbo 25-Apr-2005 17:21

creating a gif from an movie file

Pause the movie clip then use Alt+PrintScreen to dump the media player window bitmap to the clipboard. Then open up an image editor (e.g. Paint Shop Pro) and use Edit-Paste to create an image from the contents of the clipboard. Then crop, re-size, and save as a gif.
