miles on clocks I ride with a couple of milles on week ends and got onto the conversation about clocks. one of them was saying if he takes hes battery off hes bike and leaves it for a few weeks that it loses its memory and puts it back to zero mileage, he told the local dealer about it and they said they do that from time to time. so was wondering if the duc would do the same cos could be a pain if you are up to date with service history. |
It did that on the newer Aprilia RSVs, but I've not heard of Ducs doing it... |
The 04 model RSVs and Factories did have this 'fault' that dealers know about - they are not supposed to do it for obvious reasons! |
This winter the battery spent more time out of the bike being charged than in. The odo didn't reset alas. |
My bike is an early 2003 749s. Very early on in it's life it had ECU and clock related problems. Occasionally it did lose all it's mileage and reset at zero. ECU and clocks were replaced with updated versions under warranty and all is ok now. All that said, the dealer, did say that they have a "secret" sequence of pressing buttons etc etc that could reset the clocks .... not sure if that is true or urban myth. |
it is a 04 I think and the other is a brand newy and had nothing but problems with the clocks. well that will teach em for not buying ducs. :D:D |
Oi I heard that! It is a problem some '04 models had. For the life of me I can't remember why. Unfortunately mine never did it. Could get a bit confusing when it comes to servicing though. Could ask on www.rsvr.net |
