Mounting a rented transponder??

Hi All,

Just thinking about how I'm going to mount the transponder I'll renting this weekend. Is it ok to zip tie it to a frame member, or does it need the proper mount with the pin?

Does it matter where on the bike it's mounted? Will the scrutineer freak it it's mounted by the rev counter?

Cheers,

Ali

Mine is a hardwired jobbie - it didn't come with a bracket so I've cable tied it to my left fork leg above the bottom yoke.

Seems pretty solid.

No worries.

Yep - we used these at the ESS day on Monday - you cable-tie the mount bracket to the frame somewhere on the right side and fix the trxponder to the bracket using the clip - sorted.

They sell the brackets at the race meetings for £5 last time I looked, then you can just leave it on the bike until next time, ideal when you have several race bikes like I have as it makes swapping the transponder from one bike to another avery quick, ideal if your racing in two classes on different bikes.

Thanks guys. I'll keep a look out for the £5 brackets Kev.
